拥有如此“高智商”的神奇地毯，对独居老人以及需要照看的病人有重要意义，初衷也是被用在病人的看护上。在养老院、疗养院或医院房间内铺上这种智慧地毯，将会能实现更加准确地对老人及病人的实时监护，并大大节省人力资源。SensFloor地毯一旦感应到有人晕倒在地毯上，便会及时向护理人员的智能手机发出求助信号，使晕倒的对象能够时间得到救治。
